چکیده

Isometric developed tension and rate of development of tension in the in situ atrium of the anesthetized dog have been shown to increase consistently with increasing heart rate over a wide range. This study thus definitely demonstrates that both the ascending and descending staircase effects occur in the dog atrium in situ. At high cardiac rates the velocity of force development may increase without a change in the extent of force development. These changes were independent of variations in aortic pressure, intactness of betaadrenergic receptors, level of cardiac catecholamine stores, cardiac innervation, or changes in coronary flow. The character of the frequency-force relationship was found to be markedly influenced by isolation of the heart with its concomitant depression of contractility. ADDITIONAL

Ouabain-induced negative frequency-force relationship in the isolated, blood-perfused dog atrium.

Effects of ouabain, CaCl2 and verapamil on the frequency-force relationship (FFR) were investigated in the isolated, blood-perfused dog atrial muscle preparation. When ouabain (3 and 10 micrograms) or CaCl2 (0.5, 1 and 2 mg/min) was given into the sinus node artery, the contractile force of the atrial muscle, driven at a constant pacing rate of 2 Hz, increased dose-dependently. Verapamil (1 and...

In-situ synthesis and characterization of reduced graphene oxide –Ag nanocomposites

Reduced graphene oxide(rGO)–silver(Ag) nanocomposites have been prepared by using solution based facile one-pot synthesis process. The reaction process involves high-temperature liquid-phase exfoliation of graphite oxide and silver acetate in presence of N-N’dimethylformamide (DMF) solvent, resulting in simultaneous formation of rGO as well as Ag nanoparticles. Different nanocomposites have bee...

Investigating the relationship between frequency components of ground reaction force and sport shoe insoles comfort during stance phase of running

Introduction: Shoe insoles are widely recommended to increase sport shoes comfort during running. However, relationship between ground reaction force frequency and perceived comfort is still unclear. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship between ground reaction force frequency changes and perceived comfort during stance phase of running. Methods: 30 female students (mean...

Effects of two new dihydropyridine derivatives, mepudipine and dibudipine, on isolated human internal mammary artery and rat left atrium

Among the present classes of calcium channel blockers, dihydropyridine derivatives are widely used in the therapy of hypertension, angina pectoris and the other cardiovascular diseases. Since the prototype of dihydropyridine derivatives, nifedipine, does not have the optimum pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic characteristics, several attempts have been made to synthesize other drugs in this ...

Preparation and Characterization of Layered Silicate Polyethylene Terephthalate Nanocomposite by in Situ Polymerization

A series of experiments on the synthesis of poly (ethylene terephthalate) (PET)/organo-montmorillonite (MMT) nanocomposites were carried out in a pressurized reactor using alkyl ammonium exchanged smectite clays, (Closite 30B).Given the degradation of organoclay at high temperatures, the in situ polymerization process was carried out at mild temperatures ranging from 210 to 230°C for 40 minutes...
